This unique and majestic site is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. By making the best use of the means of transport, our pleasant hikes will take you to magnificent viewpoints and dreamlike landscapes. Our hotel in Breiten is far away from pompous palaces. The family-run hotel allows you to have a privileged contact with your hosts. After your return from a walk, you can complete your perfect day with wellness activities such as the brine thermal bath and wellness area and professional spa treatments.

Rhone spring in Goms

Rhone spring - Goms

6.4 km   •   ↑290m   •   ↓ 290m   •   3:00 h

Drive to Oberwald (1368 m). The ascent then follows along the young Rhone from Oberwald to the Chapel of St. Nicholas and via the old mountain route to the restaurant Rhonequelle. After lunch, descent through the forest back to Oberwald. On the return journey we visit one of the art monuments in the church or Reckingen.


Alpe Brischeru - Mund

Saaldwald - Alpe Brischeru

Transfer by car to Saalwald (Mund). Hike to the Chaschtler. From there the path leads through the forest "Leemegga" to the Alpe Birscheru. At the highest point of our hike (2057 m) we have a fantastic panoramic view of the Rhone valley and the mountains around the Matterhorn. After the picnic we hiked through the Horumatte forest down to Meinimatte. Return journey to Breiten.


Waymarks on hidden paths

Riederalp - Aletsch Forest - Hohfluh

8.0 km   •   ↑500m   •   ↓ 500m   •   4:15 h

Ride with the cable car to the Riederalp (1950 m). Ascent to Hohfluh via Riederfurka. An extraordinary panorama opens up over Riederalp, the peaks of the Valais Alps and the Aletsch Glacier. 23 kilometres of ice in one piece! Afterwards we hike through the heart of the Aletsch Forest, which is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. Return via Riederfurka to Riederalp. Free time to enjoy the hotel's wellness area.


Snowshoe hike on the Simplon

Wasenalp - Mäderlücke (Simplon Pass)

Transfer by bus to Rothwald (1725 m). From there up to the houses on Wasenalp and then ascent to Restaurant Mäderlicka (2230). Sensational view of the Rhone valley and many surrounding peaks. We descend through a beautiful larch forest. If we have time, we stop at the Stockalper Castle and a short visit to the oldest part of the village of Naters (ossuary etc.).


Suspension bridge Belalp Riederalp

Bettmerhorn - Biel - Riederalp

6.5 km   •   ↑ 70m   •   ↓ 780m   •   3:00 h

With the cable car we reach the Bettmerhorn at 2'647 meters altitude. Then we descend over the easy ridge to Biel (2292 m) and to the village of Riederalp. This hike offers unique panoramas of the Bernese Alps, the Aletsch Glacier, the Valaisan 4,000-metre peaks and the Rhone Valley.
