Of course, even at Stoneman Glaciara you don't have to beat the stopwatch. Your own performance is the benchmark. If you conquer the course in one day, you can call the Stoneman trophy in gold your own. If you master the Stoneman in two or three daily stages, you have earned the trophy in silver or bronze.
The Badehotel Salina Maris is located directly on the route of the Stoneman-Glaciara, at the starting point of the royal leg up to the Breithorn. It is easy to reach by car and train. The brine spa and massage service (pre-booking recommended) are an additional help for a successful completion of the Stoneman-Glaciara.
We also support you in other ways, e.g. with the organisation of the luggage transport (reservation at least 2 days in advance). Even better: Stay with us all the time and you can do without the luggage transport and the annoying packing and unpacking.
As an official Stoneman Glaciara partner, located directly on the track, we offer you as a Stoneman driver a super package. You will stay in beautiful, spacious rooms with bath/WC, balcony or terrace, satellite TV, minibar, free WLan access, heating and a magnificent view. And of course you have access to the wellness area and the brine spa – the optimal remedy for muscle soreness!
Our servicesThe Stoneman Glaciara route consists of two or three balanced stages: The king's ascent begins directly in front of the Salina Maris hotel door: from Mörel to the old military road, which in the Hockmatte climbs 1600m to the 2,451m high Breithorn. This is followed by the descent into the Binn valley, the treasure trove for rock crystals and over 200 other types of mineral. Then you continue along the Rhone towards Obergoms – along ancient, mystical villages, monuments rich in history and inviting cafés. Via the mountain village of Bellwald you reach Fiesch, from where it climbs again to the Arctic Ocean of the Great Aletsch Glacier, then to the challenging viewpoint of Moosfluh and finally back to the starting point at Breiten above Mörel.
The spa hotel Salina Maris is an official accommodation partner of Stoneman Glaciara. With us you can not only stay overnight, register your trip and receive your starter package.
If required, you can also register your luggage transport to your next destination with us. But attention: We need your registration if possible 3 days (at least 2 days) before the transport date (cost per piece of luggage CHF 35).
At our hotel we will serve you breakfast. We also have a small bar menu with some dishes.
For dinner we recommend the restaurants in the nearby village centre. If you booked with dinner, the "Aletsch" and the "Tunetsch" restaurant offers you a 3-course and a 4-course menu every day.
A free taxi service (according to the timetable) to the village centre and back is available both at noon and in the evening.
We will gladly pick you up free of charge at Mörel station on arrival and bring you back to Mörel on the day of departure. Please mention if you have a bike with you!
If you arrive by car, a place in our parking hall or on the parking lot is available for you. (chargeable; reduced prices for direct bookers.).
If you wish to use our Mörel-Breiten shuttle service during your stay, we will charge you CHF 4.00 per trip and person (minimum CHF 8 per trip).
The Badehotel Salina Maris is ideally located at the starting point to Stoneman Glaciara above Mörel.
